Parents and Guests!

Just like your student, the college transition can be equally as intimidating for you. You're worried about your student's academics, health, and most importantly their safety. The Orientation Ambassadors and Clemson Faculty completely understand your concerns, which is why we are also here for you as well.

Safety

Clemson offers many ways to keep students safe on and off campus. One way to stay safe on campus is by taking the Tiger Transit system if it is late at night, or if your student is simply uncomfortable walking around campus for any reason. I've used the Tiger Transit many times and can say that it is very reliable. There are also numerous "blue emergency lights" around campus and when activated, they alert the campus police immediately. Clemson also provides these useful tips on how to remain safe around campus.

Staying Healthy

With numerous college students living so closely, your student may come into contact with unfamiliar illness. Thankfully, Clemson has it's own doctor's office on campus known as the Redfern Health Center. Redfern offers students full on medical attention, supplies antibiotics when needed, and you can even have prescriptions from home transferred there for your student to pick up on a regular basis. Although it may not be the same as being treated at home by momma, it has always provided me with great quality service!

Campus Dining

Clemson offers three dining halls on campus that are on the meal plan: Schilletter, Harcombe, and Clemson House. We also have an on campus Subway, Papa Johns, and Tiger Grill in the Hendrix Student Union, as well as a Chilis and Chick-fil-A in what we call The Canteen. These places as well as other dining facilities all take Paw Points and Tiger Stripe

Clemson's Financial Services department offers access to your student's bill and step-by-step instructions on dealing with the financial aspect of college. Our Financial Aid department also offers great information on student loans, grants, scholarships, and financial aid packages! All financial information can also be found in Sikes Hall.
